MTU Chemistry Computing Labs

The Computer Lab The Chemistry Department's computer lab is located in room 717 in the Chem Sci building, overlooking Houghton's beautiful portage lake. The lab offers computers of several different types as well as printers and any other hardware that might be useful to students. The computers include many Windows XP workstations, two Sun Ultra-10 Workstations, and three Sun Microsystems SunRay thin-client computing stations.

A Great Study EnvironmentThe lab is also a social room for many of our graduate and undergraduate chemistry students. The lab contains a large table for studying or working on group projects and also couches for reading in comfort. Lastly, the lab contains many chemistry books and resources that are available for all chemistry students to use as well as a phone line, number (906) 487-1758.

If you need help using the computers you can contact the Systems Administrator, Shane Crist, by emailing him at chhelp@help.chemistry.mtu.edu or by talking to him in his office which adjoins the computer lab (room 717A).
