ThermoFinnigan LCQ Advantage Liquid Chromatograph/Mass spectrometer.
The Chemistry Department recently acquired a Thermo Finnigan LCQ Advantage Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer. The ion-trap spectrometer allows the generation of MS/MS data. The instrument is equipped with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source.
The funding that paid for this expensive instrument came from different sources. The majority of the funding came from the Michigan Tech Research Excellence Award fund, and the Chemistry Department. The instrument was also partially funded by the Research Grants from the faculty in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, and Environmental Engineering.
